Barış Özbek

Barış Ozbek ( born September 14, 1986 in Castrop -Rauxel ) is a German footballer of Turkish descent. He plays in midfield and is since January 2013 at the 1 FC Union Berlin under contract.

Career

The midfielder grew up together with his brothers and Sencer Ufuk on in his birth city of Castrop -Rauxel. In his youth, Ozbek played at the Bochum district associations SG Wattenscheid 09 and DJK TuS Hordel as well as blue-yellow Schwerin, before he joined the youth team of Rot-Weiss Essen 2003. From 2005 he played in the first team of RW Essen, with the he succeeded in 2006 promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. Baris Ozbek and his teammate Essen Serkan Calik agreed end of the contract in Essen with Galatasaray on a commitment to season 2007 /08. In Essen Barış Ozbek completed a total of 13 games in the Regionalliga Nord and 25 games in the Bundesliga 2. In addition, he has during his time in Essen denied a DFB Cup match.

At Galatasaray Istanbul, Ozbek could immediately win a starting place, and came in the 2007/ 08 season on 30 missions in the Turkish Süper Lig, two games in the UEFA Cup qualification and six UEFA Cup inserts.

His contract with Galatasaray ended on May 31, 2011 and was not renewed. Ozbek moved free transfer to Trabzonspor. However, he withdrew in mid-June a cruciate ligament injury to and could not be used in the first round. Overall, he came there to nine games.

End of January 2013, he returned to Germany to second division 1 FC Union Berlin, where he signed a contract until the end of June 2016. Already in his first game for the Union he managed a goal.
