January Glinker ( born January 18, 1984 in Berlin ) is a German football player.
Career
January Glinker began his football career in 1992 in the youth of the FC Berlin, in 1999 moved from there to Hertha BSC before he came to the A- youth of the first FC Union Berlin in 2001. As of July 2002 Glinker belonged to the squad of the then second division. There he took over the post of third -budgetary goalkeeper Patrick bird behind Sven Beuckert and Robert Wulnikowski. Two years later he played in the 2003/04 season his debut for the first team, when Wulnikowski injured in the game at Alemannia Aachen. This was followed up to the end of the season, three more appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga for the "Iron ", where Glinker was able to play the last two games.
After the descent of the first FC Union in the Regionalliga in 2004 and the associated disposal Wulnikowskis first got Marco Sejna in preference to Glinker. As the season progresses, however Sejna could not claim his place and sat down Glinker finally by a goalkeeper. However, he also could not get the new descent Unions - this time in the NOFV- Oberliga Nord - prevent. In the 2005/06 season but the club managed to return to the Regionalliga.
The following season Glinker held with the team the class and also won the Berlin State Cup. He had a big role in ensuring that the first FC Union with only 39 goals conceded in 36 games had the second best defense in the league. In the 2007 /08 season with Union he managed to qualify for the new third professional league and the year after the return to the Second Bundesliga. At the beginning of the 2010/11 season got Glinker by the obligation of Marcel Höttecke more competition on the position of the goalkeeper. During the season he lost his place to Höttecke, but benefited from an injury of his rival later. Overall Glinker denied this season 19 league games. For the season 2011/12 Höttecke was originally intended as a goalkeeper coach Uwe Neuhaus, but was injured again early in the season. Glinker took the chance and stood up to the end of the season back in the starting lineup of the Unioner.
With the commitment of Daniel Haas as direct competitors Glinker was replaced at the beginning of the 2012/13 season back on the bench. Nevertheless, the goalkeeper is in the Union fans very popular due to its performance and has a total of four times ( 2007-2009, 2012) voted " Unioner of the Year".
Private
January Glinkers parents were active in sports in the GDR: His mother was Petra athlete, his father Matthias national volleyball player. Glinkers older brother Sven was also national volleyball player.
