Bavarian C II

The steam locomotives of the Bavarian type C II were locomotives of the Royal Bavarian State Railways.

Supports tender locomotives

The first C II have been tentatively made as Supports Locomotive. Here we took up an idea, which was developed by William of Engerth (see Engerth locomotive ). The boiler barrel was supported by the tender. However, since the machines had a rough running, you converted it to 1870. First of said support has been removed and finished, to compensate for the unequal loading of the axes, the first axis is decoupled, so that the locomotive running henceforth as 1B. When, after a few years, the boiler had to be replaced, they were shifted for better weight distribution to the front. The former Supports tender locomotives were thus the C II of the normal type -matched and were thus again C- couplers.

Normal type

These locomotives were needed for the rise in freight traffic. They went forth from the Series C I. The C II received external frame, horizontal outer cylinder, long neck cranks and an internal control Stephenson. The transition between long - and the firebox was performed tapered, so he could be fitted between the rear axle. Instead of a cab the locomotives were initially given a weather shield, similar to today possess him motorcycles. The withdrawal began in 1891 and was completed in 1906. A copy that had survived as Waschlok until the end of World War I, went as a cease-fire delivery to Belgium.

They were equipped with a Tender of type 2 T 9.25.
