Bavarian D VII

The locomotives of Class D VII were wet steam locomotives of the Bavarian State Railways.

Parallel to the type D VI D VII was designed for rich gradient distances than six-coupled locomotive. A total of 75 copies were built, of which 41 came from Krauss Maffei and 34. As of 1885, the locomotives had a somewhat greater length, larger inventories and thus a larger mass.

The German Reichsbahn took over in 1925 all 75 locomotives as Class 98.76. Most were retired by the end of the 1920s, the last but not until 1935.

The 98 7601 and 98 7639 survived until 1960 as a towing machine in the Bw Bw Würzburg or Nürnberg Hbf.

A copy of the D VII 1854 - 7658 was 98 later, erected a monument at the Tengelmann wholesale market in Wiesbaden and is now in Localbahnmueseum Bavarian Eisenstein in the Bavarian Localbahn Association received.
