BBC Radio 1Xtra

BBC Radio 1Xtra is a digital radio station of the British Broadcasting Corporation, which specializes specifically on African-American music. The transmitter is a sister project of BBC Radio 1 and was originally established on 16 August 2002 under the name Project X.

The program includes mainly music programs that are primarily composed of the genre Dubstep, Hip -hop, R & B, Reggae, Bhangra, Drum and Bass, Grime, Soca, Gospel and the like, and can be received via digital radio or the Internet.

2013 1Xtra was chosen as part of the UK Drum & Bass Awards in the category Best Radio Station / Internet at No. 1.
