Beatrice of Silesia
Beatrix of Silesia - Glogau (* 1290, † August 24, 1322 ) was the first wife of Ludwig of Bavaria, whom she married in her native Silesia around 1308 probably. The exact circumstances are uncertain, as no document or report a chronicler is also available.
Beatrix was the daughter of Henry III. , Duke of Silesia - Glogau, and Mechthild, a subsidiary of Duke Albrecht of Brunswick- Lüneburg.
Beatrix was buried in the Frauenkirche in Munich. Even 22 years after her death commemorated Ludwig der Bayer nor its because a young daughter from his second marriage at that time was given the name Beatrix.
Beatrix himself had with Louis of Bavaria six children, including:
- Mathilde (1309-1346) ∞ Frederick II, Margrave of Meissen
- Louis V (1315-1361), Duke of Upper Bavaria, Margrave of Brandenburg and Count of Tyrol ∞ Margaret of Tyrol
- Anna (1316-1319); she died in Kastl and was buried in the monastery. Her body has been preserved as a mummy.
- Stephen II (1319-1375), Duke of Lower Bavaria -Landshut ∞ Elisabeth of Sicily
