Beckton DLR station

Beckton is a station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR ) in the London Borough London Borough of Newham. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 3 at Woolwich Manor Way in Beckton District.

Was opened the station on 28 March 1994, together with the branch line of Poplar ago. During the heyday of the Docklands a few hundred meters further east was a station called Beckton. This was at the end of a branch line of the Eastern Counties and Thames Junction Railway, which opened up a gas station and 17 March 1873 until 29 December 1940 in operation. The DLR today uses a section of the former railway line. However, the DLR Beckton reached forth the terminus of the East, while the railway line from the west led here. Most of the former branch line is a trail today.
