Gallions Reach DLR station

Gallions Reach is a station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR ) in the London Borough London Borough of Newham. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 3 at the Royal Docks Road in Beckton District. A little further north branches off a track that leads to one of the two accounts of the DLR.

Was opened the station on 28 March 1994, together with the branch line towards Beckton. During the heyday of the Docklands was almost at the same location, a station called Manor Way. It was built in July 1881 by the Eastern Counties and Thames Junction Railway, was completed in 1886 offset by a few tens of meters to a new location and had to be closed at the track due to irreparable damage bombs on 8 September 1940.

Medium term to Gallions Reach out to a new route along the river Thames lead to Dagenham Dock Station. This would give the former industrial site Barking Reach be developed, which is converted into a new residential and business area. The opening was originally scheduled for 2017, but the project has now been reset.
