Ben Thomson

Ben Thomson (born 30 June 1982 Coaldale, Alberta ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who played until 2012 when EV Ravensburg in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Career

Thomson began his career in 1997 at the Medicine Hat Tigers in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League, where he spent six seasons. This was followed between 2003 and 2006 three years at the University of Alberta, took him before the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League for the start of the 2006/07 season under contract.

After a year with the Aeros, he moved to Europe to Klagenfurt AC in the Austrian Bundesliga. Thomson completed 17 games for the team before he went into the 2007/ 08 season in the 2nd Bundesliga EV Ravensburg. In the following 35 games of the season the right shooter hit 26 times the gate and prepared 24 matches ago.

In the following two game years he developed into one of the leading players of the club and won with this at the end of the 2010/11 season the championship of the 2nd Bundesliga.
