Benny Tetamashimba

Benny Tetamashimba ( † 5 September 2009) was a politician in Zambia.

Benny Tetamashimba was among the political heavyweights in Zambia, was seen as willful and as a friend of the open, polarizing word. The concept of " recycling politician " comes from him, and refers to those who were responsible for the economic decline of Zambia and now found in the new democracy parties.

Tetamashimba to February 2004 was a board member of Northwestern Cooperative Union and President of the Zambia Cooperative Federation, when he was fired for "defamation ".

Benny Tetamashimba was in 1996 MPs: for the National Party, he won the constituency Solwezi West and then was Secretary General of the United Party for National Development. He won in the election in Zambia in 2001 for the UPND the mandate of the constituency Solwezi Central in the National Assembly. After intra- party conflict and party exclusion for "insubordination " he joined in 2003 along with Austin Liato the Movement for Multi Party Democracy. In May 2006, he was Deputy Minister of Information and Media. At the same time he was also Speaker of the MMD.

After the election in 2006 in which he won his old constituency, he was appointed Deputy Minister for Labour and supply.
