Benoît Salmon

Benoît Salmon ( born May 9, 1974 in Dinan ) is a former French cyclist.

Cycling career

Benoît Salmon began his career in 1996 at Collstrop. He immediately became the eighth at the Tour de l' Avenir. The following season he moved to Lotto, where he finished fourth in the Grand Prix Cholet - Pays de la Loire and ninth in the Flèche Wallonne. In 1998 he went to the casino and took for the first time in the Tour de France in part. A year later, he won ahead of the tour the Midi Libre.

The tour itself he was 16th in the overall standings and secured the white jersey of best young rider. After a rather unsuccessful year with the new sponsor AG2R Prévoyance he made it again in 2001 to second place in the Midi Libre including stage victory and the third in the Dauphiné Libéré.

In 2002, the Swiss team Phonak Salmon. At the French Championships in 2003, he was fourth and in 2004, after he went to Crédit Agricole, a third party. Since 2005, Benoît Salmon went for the French Professional Continental team Agritubel. His best result there was a third overall at the Route du Sud 2005.

End of the 2008 season ended his career Salmon.
