The station Bensheim -Auerbach is a former railway station, which has since been demoted to a breakpoint. It is a Grade I listed cultural monument in the district of Bensheim Auerbach. On the 3 tracks ( track 1 and 2 are regularly used) the breakpoint keep only regional trains.

History

The station Bensheim -Auerbach was built in 1850 for the Frankfurt am Main to Heidelberg leading Main-Neckar Railway. The design for the station to be from the Darmstadt city architect Georg Moller.

In December 2007, plans of Deutsche Bahn AG announced that it intends to sell the reception building. Shortly afterwards, the railway announced the sale to an investor known.

Construction

The station is a two-storey residential or administrative buildings. He is covered with a gable roof with a low roof pitch. Below the eaves are small mezzanine windows. The station is built in three axes with yellow sandstone. The southern gable is performed in timber.
