Bento Gonçalves is a town in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil. It is located about 110 km north of Porto Alegre. Adjacent are the places Farroupilha, Garibaldi, Monte Belo do Sul, Veranópolis, Cotiporã, Santa Tereza and Nova Roma do Sul. Originally Bento Gonçalves part of Munizips Montenegro.

The city is named after one of the leaders of the Revolution Farrapen Bento Gonçalves da Silva.

Ernesto Geisel, President of Brazil from 1974 to 1979, was born in Bento Gonçalves.
