Bernard Ayandho

Bernard Ayandho (* December 15, 1930, † 1993) was from 1979 to 1980 Prime Minister of the Central African Republic.

Political career

Ayandho belonged to was founded in 1949 by Barthélemy Boganda party Mouvement pour l' l'Evolution Sociale d' Afrique Noire ( MESAN ), which was after the country's independence from France in 1960 for the Unity Party. As the reigning since 1966 Jean- Bédel Bokassa also known as Emperor Bokassa I, was overthrown by his cousin, the former president David Dacko, Ayandho took over on 26 September 1979, the Office of the Government. His predecessor Henri Maidou was Dackos vice president. Shortly thereafter, he moved from MESAN for founded by Dacko in March 1980 party Union Démocratique Centrafricaine (UDC ), which on September 20, 1981 ruled the country up to Dackos fall.

Ayandhos term of office ended on 22 August 1980, when Dacko the Office of the Prime Minister briefly took over himself.
