Bernard Buffet

Bernard Buffet (* July 10, 1928 in Paris; † 4 October 1999 tour Tour, Provence -Alpes- Côte d' Azur) was a French graphic artist and painter of Expressionism. In addition, he also worked as an illustrator and stage designer.

Life and work

Bernard Buffet studied art history at the Lycée Carnot and between 1943 to 1945 at the École des Beaux -Arts in Paris. Buffet joined with other artists to the group " L' homme - témoin " together and belonged to the scene of the artistic avant-garde. Art Historical Significance

The work of artist Bernard Buffet includes more than 8,000 paintings and many prints. His works are exhibited in major museums such as the Tate Gallery in London and the Musée National d' Art Moderne in Paris.
