Bernard Cazeneuve

Bernard Cazeneuve ( born June 2, 1963 in Senlis ) is a French politician of the Parti Socialiste (PS) and since April 2, 2014 Minister of the Interior in the cabinet Valls.

He studied at the elite high school Institut d' études politiques de Bordeaux. From 2007 until shortly after joining the Government in May 2012 and a short time after the election of the National Assembly in June 2012, he was one of the five or four deputies who represented the department of Manche in the National Assembly; his mandate expired in each case because of the incompatibility with a government function. On 16 May 2012, he was Minister Delegate for European Affairs in the cabinets Ayrault I and II Ayrault by Prime Minister Jean -Marc Ayrault, responsible for nuclear policy. In a cabinet reshuffle (withdrawal of Jérôme Cahuzac ) Cazeneuve was appointed Budget Minister in the Ministry of Finance on 19 March 2013.

At the local level was Bernard Cazeneuve from 2001 Mayor of Cherbourg- Octeville and from 2008 President of the Local Government Association Urban Community Cherbourg. He put both functions shortly after joining the government in June 2012 down.
