Bernhard Cullmann

Bernhard " Bernd" Cullmann ( born 1 November 1949) is a former German football player. Cullmann 1974 World Champion and 1980 European Champion

Career

He played as a midfielder in his playing days in 341 games from 1970 to 1984 for the 1st FC Cologne in the Bundesliga. With Cologne he became German champion in 1978 and 1977, 1978 and 1983 DFB Cup winner.

In the National Team from 1973 to 1980, he completed 40 caps and scored 6 results. Cullmann took part in the World Championships in 1974 and 1978 and in 1974 won the World Cup. In 1980 he won also with the German national team to the European Championship title.

After he finished his career in 1983 for health reasons, he was a representative at a sporting goods company. In November 1991, he joined as the third Chairman of the Executive Board of the 1st FC Cologne in September 1993, he took over from Karl -Heinz Thielen the manager posts. As early April 1996 coach Stephan Engels was dismissed, Bernd Cullmann resigned his commission. From October 1999 to June 2000 was Cullmann Manager at MSV Duisburg.

From 1998 to 2010, his son Carsten Cullmann played in the Bundesliga squad of the 1st FC Cologne.
