Bessenbach (river)

The Besse stream before it flows into the Aschaff

The Besse Bach is a left tributary of the Aschaff in the districts of Miltenberg and Aschaffenburg in the Spessart in Lower Franconia. It rises above the upper Bessenbach than cherry Ling Bach.

Name

The name comes from the Old High German word bach and the persons name Basso or Bessa. The creek was the community Besse Bach, through which the river passes, her name.

Geography

Course

The Cherry Ling creek rises above the upper Besse creek on the northwest slope of the High Wart ( 433 m). After about a kilometer flow distance it bears the name Besse Bach. This flows through the villages of Upper and road Bessenbach. There he leads to his greatest inflow of Morsbach from the left. In wedge mountain it is passed through under the factory halls of SAF -HOLLAND GmbH. North of the village it flows to the A3 junction Besse Bach / Waldaschaff in the Aschaff.
