Beverīna Municipality
The district Beverina ( Beverīnas novads ) is located in northern Latvia.
Population
The district consists of three municipalities ( pagasts ) Brenguļi, Kauguri, Trikāta. The administrative center is Mūrmuiža, which belongs to the municipality Kauguri. 3553 inhabitants ( 2010) live in the district Beverina.
Trivia
In a same Mūrmuiža in the former Duchy of Courland battle of Gemauerthof took place on 16 July 1705. The Swedes then defeated the Russians.
Coat of arms
2012 a competition to design a coat of arms was announced. A selection is made, but a decision has not yet been made.
