Jelgava Municipality

The district Jelgava ( Jelgava novads ) is located in the countryside Semgallen an administrative district in Latvia, southwest of Riga.

Population

The district was established in 2009 and was formed from the town Kalnciems and 13 rural communities. The administrative center is located in Jelgava, although this city is not as " Republic City " part of the district. (see also: Administrative divisions of Latvia )

In the year 2010 27103 inhabitants were reported.
