Beverly Lewis

Beverly Lewis ( born April 17, 1949 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania as Beverly Marie Jones ) is an American writer. With a total circulation of more than 17 million books, she is the most successful author of Amish Romance Novels, a popular new genre in the United States entertaining romance novels whose main characters are Amish.

Life and work

Lewis' maternal grandmother, Ada Ranck Buchwalter, was a (non- Amish ) Old Order Mennonite who left their community of faith at age 18, to marry a student who later became a preacher of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Even Lewis' father was a preacher. She grew up with her parents and a sister in Neffsville, a suburb of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on.

After attending Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, Lewis became a school and music teacher. She wrote from childhood, but only began to publish when their children already went to Middle School: first in magazines, then followed in 1993 her first book, Mountain Bikes and Garbanzo Beans ( Volume 22 in today's cul-de -sac Kids series).
