Bewitched (Swedish band)
Bewitched is a Swedish Black- and thrash - metal band from Umeå, which was founded in 1995.
History
The band was founded in 1995. That same year they recorded the demo Light Spell and reached by a contract with Osmose Productions. The debut album Diabolical Desecration was recorded in the same year and published in the following year. 1996 was followed by a European tour together with Ancient Rites, Sacramentum and Enthroned. In the same year also the EP Encyclopedia of Evil appeared.
In 1997 the second album Pentagram Prayer. In addition, guitarist Blackheim left the band. It was followed by another tour with Enslaved, Dark Tranquillity, Sword Master, Demoniac and Della Morte. This was followed by the recording of the live album Hell Comes to Essen, which was published the following year. 1998 also, the band played at Dynamo Open Air The next album, At the Gates of Hell followed in 1999. Moreover, the band at Wacken Open Air played, as well as an appearance in Mexico City. In 2000, guitarist Hellfire joined the band. The next album followed in 2002 and was called Rise of the Antichrist. In addition, the band at Party San Open Air 2003 played the band reached a deal with Regain Records and released on this label, the EP Atrocities in A- Minor.
The so far last album was released in 2006 and was called Spiritual Warfare.
Style
The band plays a mix of black and thrash metal, where the works are described as "primitive ". The songs often move in mid-tempo, with the use of double bass is characteristic.
