The Party San Open Air in August is held annually in Thuringia extreme metal festival. The musical direction is black, thrash and death metal and grindcore. From 1996 to 2010, the Festival took place in deep pits. Due to the difficult subsoil, the organizer decided to let the festival take place from 2011 on the airfield Obermehler vent home in the north of Thuringia.

The Party San Open Air is against any political infiltration of the metal scene, which is why, for example, in 2007 the band Taake was unloaded after the swastika scandal in Essen Club Turock since the beginning. Despite these measures, members of the band Watain while showing the Hitler salute and wearing T -shirts of the NSBM band Absurd were seen after her appearance on the Party San Open Air 2006. Nevertheless, they played there again in 2010.
