Bibiana Candelas

Bibiana Candelas Ramírez ( born December 2, 1983 in Torreón ) is a Mexican beach volleyball player. Previously, she was also active in volleyball and participated in two World Cups.

Career

Candelas began her career as a student of the Colegio Ponceño in Ponce (Puerto Rico). At the age of 14, she was first appointed to the senior national team. 2002, the middle blocker with the team at the World Cup in Germany in part, in Mexico as a group last after the first round was eliminated. In the same year Candelas joined the University of Southern California. In 2003, she won the NCAA championship with the USC Trojans. In 2005, she completed her training. A year later, she played with the national team at the World Championships in Japan, which ended for the underdog without winning any set.

2007 formed Candelas a beach volleyball duo with Mayra García and graduated at the Shanghai Open her first tournament of the FIVB World Tour. At the Pan American Games, the two Mexican women won the bronze medal. 2008 Candelas / Garcia came in two open tournaments and at the Grand Slam in Berlin and Stavanger respectively in the top ten. They also won the NORCECA tournament in Guatemala City. In Beijing, they took part in the Olympic Games. They arrived as a group of third preliminary round, the Lucky- Loser- round in which they the Norwegian duo Hakedal / Tørlen documents in the tiebreak.

2009 Candelas / Garcia qualified for the World Championships in Stavanger. As a group, they came third in the first major round in which they were beaten by Brazil from the later finalist Larissa / Juliana. In the same year they won the Tournament NORCECA tour in Tijuana and Puerto Vallarta. In 2010 they succeeded as fifth in the Grand Slam in Gstaad, the best result to date on the World Tour. At the World Championships 2011 in Rome, the Mexicans, however, eliminated from the first round as a group last, after they had managed only two sets of gains in three games. At home, they were more successful; they won three tournaments in the NORCECA series and the silver medal at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara. The best result in the World Tour 2012 reached Candelas / Garcia faced in 13th place at the Brasília Open. The Grand Slam in Beijing was the last tournament of the common duo.

Candelas 2013 came along with Martha Revuelta. The new duo finished in the first tournament of the Continental Tour the ranks of four and three.
