Bigadiç

Bigadiç is a town and a district of the Turkish province of Balıkesir. The city is located about 35 kilometers southeast of the provincial capital of Balıkesir.

The district lies to the east of the province. It is bordered to the north by Kepsut, on the northeast by Dursunbey, to the south Sındırgı and to the west by the central county. Through the town the road D -555 runs from Balıkesir after Sındırgı. The city is located on the western slope of the mountain range Alacam Dagi, also called Ulus Dagi, west of the city flows the Simav Çayı, the ancient Makestos. About ten kilometers northeast of Bigadiç is the reservoir Çamköy Baraji.

In the district there are extensive deposits in which boron is obtained.
