Background information

Plans for a remake of the offshoot of The Six Million Dollar Man existed by 2002. Sisters Jennifer Todd and Suzanne Todd ( producers of, among others, Austin Powers and Across the Universe ) first tried the series on USA Network to bring out and Jennifer Aniston for the leading role to win. The project fell asleep, however, until 2006, the NBC series announced. David Eick has been committed as a new producer and Laeta Kalogridis ( Birds of Prey ) wrote the script of the first episodes. However, since only the rights of the original series, the seven- million-dollar woman purchased the rights to the novel Cyborg by Martin Caidin, and the series included The Six Million Dollar Man but other parties had omitted important elements of the template. Only the name of the main character and the " bionic powers" could be taken over from the original.

The production then was delayed by a major strike by the Writers Guild of America, East. The wacky eight episodes were broadcast. Although NBC initially announced to produce more episodes, the series was canceled after the first season due to poor rates.
