The Bitjug in summer

The Bitjug (Russian Битюг ) is a left tributary of the Russian Don in the Oka -Don plain.

It rises in the south of the Russian administrative unit in Tambov Tokarjowka. Its water initially flows west and then mostly to the south. South of Bobrow it forms the reservoir Cherkasskoye, then about 60 km south of Bobrow to flow into the Don. From mid- December to late March, the river has frozen on a regular basis.

After this river is called a race strong work horses that have been bred in the river basin, the Bitjug horse.
