Style

Blackmore 's Night play at Renaissance music -oriented songs. The traditional acoustic instrumentation is subtly complemented by modern instruments. Blackmore has turned away from the reef - accented hard rock game and playing his guitar now mainly to classical school. But Chance he also plays Deep Purple or Rainbow Classic with electric guitar, such as Black Night Woman from Tokyo or Burn. The melodic vocals of Candice Night is comparable with modern folk music. The lyrics are inspired by old folk songs and contemporary folk songs. The band plays live exclusively with historic costume, often also on palaces and castles. Frequently the audience to the concerts will also appear in medieval clothes. As an opening act, they will be accompanied frequently by the Black German medieval music lineup Des Geyer pile.

It often occurs in the context of the recordings also to collaborate with other renowned artists such as Ian Anderson ( Jethro Tull ) and Joe Lynn Turner (former Rainbow and Deep Purple ). Also can be heard on almost every album the band and at concerts cover versions; often of titles that were originally already taken by Blackmore with other bands. Among other things, interpreted Blackmore 's Night Diamonds and Rust by Joan Baez, The Times They Are A- Changin ' by Bob Dylan, Ralph McTells Streets of London or the Rednex hit Wish you were here. With Child in Time, Soldier of Fortune (both from Deep Purple ) and Street of Dreams, 16th Century Greensleeves or Self Portrait ( Rainbow ) play Blackmore 's Night also the title of ex - bands of Ritchie Blackmore. Furthermore, there are already interesting cover versions of Blackmore's -night pieces, such as a vertex tete version of Memmingen under the name of Tell Me Why by Thomas Pihale 's Rainstorm Project.
