Blue Air

Blue Air is a Romanian low cost airline. Be your home base since the end of March 2012, the Bucharest Otopeni Airport after the former base was closed at the airport Baneasa for scheduled flights.

History

Blue Air is the first low-cost and charter airline in Romania, which was built after the success patterns of the airlines from the United States as well as Central and Western Europe. The low-cost concept is very suitable for the Romanian market, because the ticket prices there are still quite high and a well-developed network connection to other major European cities does not yet exist. The company's goal it is by his own admission, offer professional services at affordable prices as an alternative to the existing road and rail transport routes. The crew comes mostly from the Romanian airline TAROM.

Blue Air founded together with Rome's Trade, the company Infra - Group with the intention to build a private airport on an area of ​​255 hectares in Adunatii Copaceni, 20 kilometers south of Bucharest. The airport will be connected to the Bucharest Otopeni Airport by public transport. The new airport will be designed for short and medium-haul flights.

Destinations

Blue Air since December 2004, offers flights between Romania and several European countries. At times, also Romanian domestic joining were performed.

Flights to Germany

The first scheduled flights to Germany reversed in 2006 on the route Frankfurt -Hahn- Baneasa. In autumn 2006, the connection was moved to German side Köln- Bonn and discontinued in October 2009. Since June 18, 2007 Blue Air offered flights from Stuttgart to Baneasa and Arad; the connection to Arad was set in the meantime. The connection Berlin- Schoenefeld - Baneasa was operated from April to October every week three times in 2008 and the Berlin- Tegel - Baneasa between October 2008 and October 2010 twice a week. Since June 2008, also passed the compounds Stuttgart- Sibiu and Cologne / Bonn- Sibiu; the connection from Cologne / Bonn has been set. Since November 2010, Blue Air operates out of Germany only the Stuttgart- Sibiu and Stuttgart- Baneasa. Since March 2012 Blue Air flies to the Otopeni Airport in Bucharest. To June 16, 2014 Blue Air returns with a stretcher to Bucharest again to Cologne / Bonn back.
