Blues from Laurel Canyon is the ninth album by the British blues musician John Mayall. It was released in 1968 on Decca Records and was Mayall's last regular studio album for this label.

Genesis

The dissolution of the Bluesbreakers on 14 July 1968 Mayall's request, made this a three-week trip to Los Angeles. John Mayall wanted to start a solo career and only work with a small support group. Looking after the occupation of the proposed new formation chose Mayall Mick Taylor, the guitarist, with whom he had worked the longest. The album reached number 68 of the U.S. Billboard charts and number 33 in the UK.
