In the same year WDFeld joined as drummer, yet on the publications always a drum machine sound.

In 1995, the debut Ultima Thulée appeared at Impure Creations Records. It is characterized by the extreme, like a " snow white noise " distorted electric guitars and psychedelic, atmospheric keyboards. In 1996 Memoria vetusta 1: Fathers of the Icy Age, which is the first part of a two-part concept album. The album was also taken of the Rock Hard in the list of " 250 Black Metal albums you should know ."

Vindsval works instead of Blut aus Nord on other projects. Only in 2001 was followed instead of the expected second part of Memoria vetusta the album The Mystical Beast of Rebellion, which disappointed many fans, as the style of Black Metal had changed towards a mix of industrial, noise and atonal sounds. This development was continued on the following albums and assessed as positive. From Mort the albums published by Candlelight Records, but the band is currently under the label Debemur Morti Productions under contract.

2009 appeared the second part of Memoria vetusta, Dialogue with the Stars. It is based on the style of the first part, but still contains dissonant elements. Was released in 2010 What Once Was ... Liber I with only two very long, somber pieces.

Style of music and texts

The first two albums by Blut aus Nord were influenced by Black Metal. The music from The Work Which Transforms God accompanying, "cold" electronic elements predominate Mort against the metal elements, so that the music "as good as nothing, if not nothing at Hat with Black Metal" has; Chris Dick by Decibel Magazine described the style of Mort as "sonic equivalent to Thorns injecting Street Cleaner -era Godflesh with an evil unpredictability ". From Odinist - The Destruction of Reason by Illumination, the band was based more strongly on Black Metal. However, the interim musical direction is reflected still in their music down. In Memoria vetusta II: Dialogue with the Stars can be found with The meditator also a song with allusions to the Viking metal phase Bathory.

Vindsval understands Blut aus Nord as an artistic concept and distanced the band from the satanic scene, which he describes as " childish satanic clowns " and " pathetic circus". The lyrics of the band include mostly philosophical and individualistic content on Ultima Thulée, the two parts of Memoria vetusta and Odinist - The Destruction of Reason by Illumination and contents of Norse mythology.
