Bob Lee (footballer)

Robert Gordon "Bob" Lee ( born February 2, 1953 in Melton Mowbray ) is a former English footballer.

Career

Lee came in July 1971 as a junior player for Erstligaaufsteiger Leicester City and signed in February 1972 his first professional contract. On his debut, he appeared at the March 18, 1972 against Derby County, put it in the following two seasons, but only sporadically inserts. Only after a lending transaction with the fourth division Doncaster Rovers, as it 1974 get two hits in his return on Boxing Day, he stood as an attacking partner of Frank Worthington and Chris Garland regular in the starting lineup. After the successful re-emergence in the summer of 1980, in which Lee hardly played a role as a reserve player, the striker was left by his move to Bristol Rovers in the second division. With only two goals in 23 league inserts and the descent into the Third Division his stay in Bristol ended after only one year and he signed a contract with Carlisle United.

The 1981/82 season concluded with Lee Carlisle on the second place in the standings of the Third Division from, with eleven season hits, he played a decisive role in the rise of the Cumbrians in the Second Division. In the second division the following season, the attacker only played a minor role under coach Bob Stokoe rise. Even during the season, in the spring of 1983, he moved to FC Southampton, arrived there but until season's end to no use. His last position in the English professional football was the fourth division club FC Darlington, he left after five games without a goal already in October 1983 again to continue his career with Boston United in the Alliance Premier League, the highest amateur league in the country.
