Bochov

Bochov ( German Buchau ) is a city in the Czech Republic. It is completely surrounded by the emperor forest, Doupov mountains and highlands in Tepler Okres Karlovy Vary.

History

The village was founded in the late 40s of the 14th century on the trade route from Prague to Elbogen. Founders were probably the brothers V. Boreš the Elder and Slauko V. giant castle. The medieval town plan indicates that the place was already established as a city. Already in 1352, the parish is mentioned. Buchau belonged to the rule Hunger Mountain, whose center was the castle on the mountain hunger.

After a lost battle against King Wenceslas IV in 1406 that deprived the Lords of Riesenburg the rule including the city Buchau. Wenzel was the rule Ulrich Hasenburg, one of his followers. 1410 bought Heinrich von Plauen X. rule. After his appointment to the Viscount of Meissen on July 21, 1426 by King Sigismund he called himself Henry I, Viscount Meissen. His son, Henry II, originally partisan King George of Podiebrad, fell after 1459 (Treaty of Eger between Bohemia and Saxony ) of this from, was among the leaders of the Catholic Men's League and the so-called rebels who supported the Bohemian rival King Matthias Corvinus. 1469 devastated the economic center of the later reign of Henry Toužim Útvina. In return, George of Podiebrad burned down the town and the castle Buchau Hunger Mountain. The rebuilding of the city began immediately and was from 1471 supported by the new king Vladislav II. Henry II had helped with Vladislav II to the throne. The castle on the mountain hunger was not rebuilt. Today you can find on the mountain hunger only mounting remnants and a deep moat. The castle Neuhartenstein (castle Hartenštejn ) was instead near the city built as a new center of power. Henry II called himself Lord to Neuhartenstein.

On November 16, 1501 at which time the city had long since rebuilt, was Margaret daughter of Henry III. from his first marriage married Yaroslav II of Lobkowitz and Hassenstein in Buchau. When Henry IV of Plauen in August 1532 with his wife, Margarethe von Salm and Neuburg of Neuhartenstein after the castle moved angels house, he united the two gentlemen to rule Castel Sant'Angelo Neuhartenstein, as is apparent from an interest rate and income registers of 1537/38, in of all the villages of the combined rule are listed. The Archangel Michael Church in the late Gothic style from the 15th century burned down in 1666 as the whole place down completely. It was rebuilt in Baroque style. In the church there is an epitaph of Adam of stone village and his wife Catherine is from the year 1579. 's Population lived largely on agriculture and sheep and later from work in a porcelain factory, a box factory, shoe making and woodworking. From 1868 Buchau was part of the district Luditz.

1910, the city had 2200 inhabitants (almost only German ), 1930 nor 1782 inhabitants, of which 84 Czechs. 1945/46, the German population was expelled. 1947 only 924 people lived in the city; Bochov lost its city charter. Since October 2006 Bochov is a city again.
