Sadov

Sadov ( German Sodau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers north of Karlovy Vary and Karlovy Vary belongs to Okres.

Geography

Sadov is located in the Sokolov basin in the valley of the brook Sadovský creek. To the north rises the hill Sadovský vrch ( 497 m). To the west is a larger Kaolintagebau. Sadov is located on the railway line Dalovice - Merklín and has " Sadov " and " Sadov - Podlesí " two railway stations. The railway line Chomutov - Cheb through the village without stopping and leads to a bridge over the creek Sadovský.

Neighboring towns are Liščí Díra in the north, Hájek in the Northeast, Nova Víska and Lesov in the east, and Vysoká Nová Hospoda the southeast, Dalovice in the south, Otovice the southwest, Březinka, Kocourek and Podlesí in the west and Velky Rybnik in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village Sadov dates from 1523. Aging is the district of boron, which can be detected since 1342.

After the abolition of patrimonial Sodau formed in 1850 a municipality in the district of Karlovy Vary. In the second half of the 19th century, the degradation of the Kaolinlagerstätte at Sodau started by Zettlitzer Kaolinwerke. In addition, there were the mines " Leopold " and " Frischglück " two lignite mines. With the 1902 initiated local railway Carlsbad ( Dallwitz ) Merkelsgrün the village received a train stop. Between 1872 and 1913 Sodau was a part of the community Halmgrün, after which the political community Sodau arose again. 1930 Great Pond and Halmgrün were incorporated to Sodau. The municipality had, including the districts 1155 inhabitants, of whom 92% were German. As a result of the Munich Agreement in 1938 the community was annexed by the German Reich. 1939 lived 989 people in the community. By 1945 Sodau was part of the German district of Karlovy Vary and came to the end of the Second World War back to Czechoslovakia. From 1946 to 1960, the congregation, which was renamed in 1948 Sadov belonged to Okres Karlovy Vary - okolí and since 1961 back to Okres Karlovy Vary. In 1950 the incorporation of Lesov, 1976, and boron added with Stráň.

The land area of ​​the core location Sadov is 171 ha in the 76 houses were reported at the 2001 census, 370 inhabitants.
