Bodo Tümmler

Bodo bottlenose dolphin ( born December 8, 1943 in Thorn ) is a retired German athlete, who in 1968 third in the 1500 -meter run was at the Olympics.

Life

Bodo porpoises grew up in Berlin. He started for the SC Charlottenburg Berlin and trained with Wolfgang Meller. In his playing days, he was 1.88 m tall and 71 kg. After his sporting career he became a teacher of Biology and sports. Initially he worked at the Forest High School in Berlin- Eichkamp and worked until his retirement in 2008 as director of studies at Schadow Gymnasium in Berlin -Zehlendorf.

The mid- 1960s to the early 1970s he was a successful middle-distance runner. Porpoises was from 1965 to 1969 and from 1971 to 1972 German champion in 1500 -meter run.

At the European Athletics Championships in Budapest in 1966 he won the 1500 -meter run ( 3:41,9 min) and third in the 800 - meter race was ( 1:46,3 min. ) His biggest success was the bronze medal in 1500 -meter run at the Summer Olympics in 1968 in Mexico City ( 3:39,0 min. ) at the Olympic games in 1972, he left in 1500 -meter intermediate run.
