Boris Gryzlov

Boris Gryzlov Vyacheslavovich (Russian Борис Вячеславович Грызлов; * December 15, 1950 in Vladivostok ) is a Russian politician. He was Interior Minister of Russia from 2001 to 2003 and from 2004 to 2008 chairman of the United Russia party. From 29 December 2003 to 14 December 2011, he was Chairman of the Russian State Duma.

Biography

Gryzlov was born in Vladivostok, but moved at the age of four years with his family to St. Petersburg ( then Leningrad ). His father Vyacheslav Gryzlov was used in the German -Soviet War of 1941-1945 as a fighter pilot in the Far East. His mother was a teacher. Both parents of Boris Gryzlov were of Russian origin. His grandfather was a Russian Orthodox priest.
