Moreover, the album was recorded with the likes of international rock music, including Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Benmont Tench of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. It is his first album, which was not given a Parental Advisory sticker. Musically, the album's development from Kid Rocks Rap toward country rock continues. Prevailed on his first albums yet the rap and hip-hop share, so this album relies more on country rock and Southern rock. A unique genre classification is therefore difficult.

Reviews

The album reached mostly above average reviews. track4 -info.de designated Kid Rock as the probably most upright Americans of today. The album was one of the uramerikanischsten albums of recent years. Care was an incredibly tasty sparkling jewel of Country and Classic Rock, freed up and plays wonderfully instrumented authentic classic. In laut.de the album got less good reviews, so it was inflated and prätenziös. Prollig and overdriven like a broken car horn is the self-proclaimed "Rock'n'Roll Jesus " tormented by a dirty dozen absurd Allerweltstracks. cdstarts came to an average Conclusions and missed 6 out of 10 possible points. No question, the song material on "Born Free" is quite consistent and of various top musicians like Chad Smith ( Red Hot Chili Peppers ) on drums and Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers ) been played excellently on the piano and the organ. At length album still lacks a bit of bite and the Thieving fun at the provocation of earlier days. This boundless Relaxtheit seems almost too seriously again, what does not fit the bottom line to Kid Rock.
