Boško Vuksanović

Bosko Vuksanović ( Serbian Cyrillic Бошко Вуксановић; born January 4, 1928 in Kotor, Kingdom of Yugoslavia, † April 4, 2011 in Belgrade, Serbia) was a Yugoslav water polo player and coach, who as a player with the national water polo team the silver medal at the summer Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 and in Melbourne in 1956 and as a coach won the silver medal at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo in 1964.

Life

Bosko Vuksanović was after school education and initially worked as a mechanic and at the National Tourism Society Centroturist and later graduated from a degree in jurisprudence.

In addition, he began a career in sports as water polo players at Mornar Split and Jadran Herceg Novi, with whom he was state champion. End of the 1940s he was also player in the national team and won at the water polo European Championships in Vienna in 1950 the bronze medal. At the Summer Olympics in Helsinki in 1952, he also won a bronze medal before he achieved with the national team at the European Championships 1954 in Turin a silver medal. Most recently, he won a bronze medal with the team as a player at the Summer Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956.

After ending his active career as a player, he became coach of the water polo team. With this he won first at the Summer Universiade in 1961 in Sofia, the gold medal and the following year in 1962, together with the crew of the Soviet Union a silver medal at the Water Polo Championship in Leipzig. In 1963, he led the team to another gold medal at the Mediterranean Games in Naples. His greatest success as a coach of the Yugoslav water polo team he reached at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo in 1964 when he became the coach of the " blue dolphins " ( Plavih Delfina ) won the silver medal.

Later he worked as a trainer in the Federal Republic of Germany as well as at Jadran Herceg Novi and Red Star Belgrade.
