Brabecke (Valme)

The Brabecke is a 13.6 km long, orographic left tributary of the Valme in North Rhine-Westphalia Hochsauerlandkreis, Germany. The creek is called the upper reaches first Osterwald Siepen, then Gellinghauser stream before it is then called Brabecke.

Geography

The Brabecke arises as Osterwald Siepen on the north flank of the Hunau, about 500 m east of the Heikersköpfchen at an altitude of 745 m above sea level. NN. From here, it flows mainly in northern directions. They happened Osterwald in the West. Between Osterwald and Gellinghausen the stream changes its name and is now leading the designation Gellinghauser Bach. From Westernbödefeld the Bach Brabecke is named. Then it flows through even the same Brabecke before u in islets to 379 m. Opens into the NN Valme.

The Brabecke overcomes on their 13.6 km long run an altitude difference of 366 m, corresponding to an average bed slope of 26.9 ‰. It drains a 32.439 km ² large catchment area over Valme, Ruhr and Rhine to the North Sea.

Tributaries

The Brabecke flow to numerous, sometimes very short streams from the surrounding heights. The most important tributary is the palm tree with a length of 6.3 km and a catchment area of ​​10.473 km ². The palm flows through Bödefeld and flows below Westernbödefeld in the Brabecke. Other noteworthy tributaries are the 3.3 km long Kohlhagen Siepen and the 2.2 km long Kalbersche.

Inflow to Henne

Part of the water is routed below the Brabecke Westernbödefeld through a tunnel in the little hen and from there through another tunnel in the Horbach at Remblinghausen. Thus the Brabecke partly belongs to the catchment area of the hen lake.
