Brad Self

Brad Self ( born February 27, 1981 in Peterborough, Ontario ) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played in the 2010/11 season at the Fish Town Penguin Bremerhaven in the 2nd Bundesliga in the position of striker. He played parallel to the Hockey Lacrosse yet. Since retiring from professional hockey, he devotes himself full-time to the Lacrosse.

America

Self Brad played his first OHL season in 1998 for the Peterborough Petes. He stood there for four seasons on the ice. With each season, he was able to record more goals and assists. He was drafted in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft in the eighth round to 235th place out of the Buffalo Sabres.

After his four years in his hometown of Peterborough Self moved to the Saint Mary's University, Halifax. For the ice hockey team, which was represented in the Atlantic University Sport league, he rushed for four seasons. In his final season at St. Mary's University, he got the award for the fairest player (most sportsmanlike player).

Europe

For the season 2006/ 07 Self Brad joined the German ice hockey league to ten times German champions SC Riessersee, which is located in Garmisch -Partenkirchen. He signed for three years in the White - Blue. There he was proud 34 goals and 42 assists, so 76 points scorer achieve in 46 games, what should be his personal best. He managed with the SC Riessersee this season promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. In the 2008 /09 season but Self was able to complete only 36 season games, because an injury forced him to take a break of two months. After the originally agreed three years at SC Riessersee he extended his contract by a further year for the 2009/10 season. This happened despite several discrepancies between self and the SCR Manager Ralph Bader.

After this season Self moved to Bremerhaven and graduated from the 2010/11 season in the Dress of Fish Town penguin. There he met an old acquaintance: Chris Stanley. With him self was already in the 2008 /09 season at SC Riessersee on the ice.

After the season with the penguin Self announced in 2011 to his retirement from active hockey, in order to devote 100% of the LaCrosse can.

Lacrosse

In his early years, Brad Self played parallel to the sport of ice hockey, he operation at these times in winter, in summer lacrosse. With this sport, he also stayed fit between hockey seasons.

In lacrosse Self was drafted: in 2001 by the Buffalo Bandits. Thus, it is probably one of the few athletes who were drafted in two different professional sports in the same city.
