Brawley is a city in Imperial County in the U.S. state of California with nearly 25,000 residents. The city covers an area of 15.1 km ² and is located at the California State Routes 78, 86 and 111

It was used for filming of the movie Jarhead - Welcome used in the dirt.

Demography

The census of 2010 showed a population of 24 953. Thus, the urban population increased by almost 3,000. According to the census of 2000 22.052 people lived in Brawley. The majority of the inhabitants consists of Latinos, 81 percent of the highest rates in the entire United States. African Americans and Asians are minorities and only come together for a good percentage. The rest of the population are of European origin whites. The number of households bleif located in the census from 2010 to 8231. For every 100 females were 94.3 men, while the median age at 30.2 years.
