El Centro is a city in the U.S. state of California and the county seat once the Imperial County. The city has about 42,000 inhabitants founded (as of 2010 census ), and was formally in 1908. The city covers an area of 32.6 square kilometers.
The city is very knowledgeable about the highways Interstate 8, Highway 86 and reach the Highway 111. El Centro is located about 180 kilometers east of San Diego and 350 kilometers southeast of Los Angeles in the south of Imperial County. The border with Mexico is located only ten kilometers away.
Demography
According to the 2010 census, the population was about 42,500, with the largest share Latinos. However, European-derived whites are relatively well represented, but significantly lower than in California or the rest of the U.S.. Asians and African Americans are minorities and thus represent each less than five percent of the population. The census collected in 2010 registered in addition, about 13,000 households in the city. Climate
