Imperial County

Calipatria is a city in the U.S. state of California. It is located in the center of Imperial County about 37 kilometers north of El Centro. According to the prior census data collected in year 2010 7.700 inhabitants. More than half of the urban population of Latinos, however, are with fifth African American than average represents. They account for almost two-thirds of the residents, which is not uncommon in the southern areas of California. Through the village runs the California State Route 111, which connects Calipatria with surrounding larger towns and extends to the Mexican border.

The place is also known for the highest independently -standing flagpole, which measures 56 meters. A higher level of awareness also has the Calipatria State Prison, a prison with over 2,000 inmates.
