Breña Alta

Brena Alta (full name: Villa de Brena Alta ) is one of 14 municipalities of the Canary Island of La Palma. Administrative center of the municipality is San Pedro de Brena Alta.

Demographics

General

The municipality Brena Alta in 1634 independently. Brena Alta Brena Baja and are the preferred places of residence of the capital city of La Palma, pretty houses and landscaped gardens characterize the image. The community lives here at an average altitude of 400 meters still mainly from agriculture.

In San Pedro de Brena Baja is a center of the cigar factory. Here much of the consumed on the island thick Puros is rolled ( the Pure ) in small workshops. The tobacco used for it is grown in the area. The handcrafted palmerian puros were also favored by Winston Churchill.

In San Isidro are the partially several hundred year old dragon trees.
