Brent Gilchrist

Brent Gilchrist ( born April 3, 1967 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who in his playing days from 1983 to 2003 among others for the Canadiens de Montréal, Edmonton Oilers, Minnesota North Stars, Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings and Nashville Predators played in the National Hockey League.

Career

Brent Gilchrist began his career as a hockey player in Canadian junior Western Hockey League in which he was active for the Kelowna Wings and Spokane Chiefs 1983-1987. During this period, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1985 in the fourth round as a total of 79 players from the Canadiens de Montréal, for their farm team, the Sherbrooke Canadiens of the American Hockey League, he played towards the end of the 1986/87 season for the first time. After he was allowed to accumulate exclusively for Sherbrooke in the AHL and in the following season, gave the winger in the 1988/89 season his debut in the National Hockey League. In his rookie year he came up with 58 games in which he scored nine goals and had 17 assists. In addition, he played nine games in the AHL Sherbrooke, for which he ran aground the last time in his career.
