Břestek

Břestek ( German Brzestek ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers north-west of Uherské Hradiště and belongs to Okres Uherské Hradiště.

Geography

Břestek located at the eastern foot of the mountain Mars in Moravian Slovakia. The village lies in the valley of the creek Zlechovský. To the north rises the Komínek ( 455 m).

Neighboring towns are Chabane in the north, Velehrad in the northeast, Tupesy the southeast, Boršice in the south, Buchlovice in the southwest, and Chrastě Zahrady in the west and Buchlov and Stare Hutě in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Prestat was in 1141 as a possession of the Church in Spytihněv. 1389 Bohuš was called by Sazovice as the owner. From his daughter, Anna, the property was passed in 1408 to her husband of Václav Morkovice over. His son Milota sold it in 1464 to Mikuláš of Zakov and Henry of Buchlovice. Other owners included, inter alia, from 1538 Hynek Podstatský of Prusinovice who sold the village to the city Hradiště. 1549 acquired Nicholas the Elder Buchlovický of Domamyslice Brzestek. He died 1551st His sons abandoned the village to Jan Dansky of Domamyslice who joined it to the reign Buchlovice. The land register of 1611 points from 44 property for Brzestek. During the Thirty Years' War, the village was burned in 1643. In hooves register of 1656, only 20 settlers sites were mentioned as cultivated, and the remaining 24 were desolate. 1663, a fire destroyed parts of the village. Until the 18th century Brzestek grew again. 1843 was the grand distillery.

After the abolition of patrimonial regimes was 1848, the municipality in the district Brzestek Hungarian Hradisch. In the second half of the 19th century was created by deforestation in the source due to the creek Chabaňský the settlement Chabane. 1866 Prussian troops dragged at her pulling a cholera, at the 17 inhabitants died and were buried at the cemetery cholera. Since 1872 the present name was Břestek common. In Břestek in 1880 800 people lived. In 1890, Chabane from 30 houses and had 119 inhabitants. For cadastre of the village belonged to this time, the court Buchlov and Berchtoldshof ( Zikmundov ), whose owners, the brothers were May, which also had large estates of Velehrad on lease. By parcelling of goods from 1923 to Břestek 43 smallholder farms. 1980 Břestek was incorporated into Buchlovice. Since 1990, the community is Břestek again. Břestek belongs to the Moravian wine varieties.
