Brett Halsey

Brett Halsey (actually: Charles Oliver Hand, born June 20, 1933, Santa Ana, California) is an American film actor.

Life

Halsey had begun already as a teenager for CBS Television, where he was discovered and promoted by Jack Benny; he sent him to the drama school of Universal Pictures.

Halsey played primarily in TV series and took on supporting roles in several Hollywood films. After a deal with Universal, which he had since 1953, he moved in 1959 to 20th Century Fox. In 1961 he was awarded the Golden Globe for male offspring hope; already in the following year, Halsey moved to Italy, where he participated in spaghetti westerns and other genre films usually adventurous nature, partly under the pseudonym Montgomery Ford

Halsey was married several times; 1954-1959 with the former Miss Germany Renate Hoy; then with Luciana Paluzzi. In 1964 he married Heidi Brühl with whom he has two children. The marriage ended in divorce in 1976. In 1971 he went back to the U.S. and took roles in various soap operas such as General Hospital. But even in such productions as The Godfather - Part 3 he appeared in supporting roles.

About his time in Rome Halsey published a novel, " The magnificent strangers" (1978, ISBN 978-0552108102 ). 2011 My Soul to Keep appeared.
