Březina (Mladá Boleslav District)

Brezina is a municipality in Okres Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic. It consists of the villages of Brezina and Honsob. 2007, there were 390 inhabitants in the municipality resident.

Geography

Brezina is on the banks of the Jizera 6 km northeast of the city Mnichovo Hradiště. Neighboring towns are in the north Hubálov, Loukov and Doubrava, in the east Zdar, to the south and west Olšina and Hoškovice Mohelnice nad Jizerou. In the southeast of the town adjacent to the protected landscape of the Bohemian Paradise. Brezina has connection to the highway R 10 and on the railway line Prague - Turnov.

History

The first written mention of the village dates back to 1225th At the end of the 13th or beginning of the 14th century the village was a parish church, dedicated to St. Lawrence. How many adjacent locations was also Brezina scene of fighting in the German war 1866.

  • The St. Lawrence Church was built at the turn of the 13th / 14th century in the Gothic style and remodeled in the 17th century in late -Renaissance style.
