Břidličná

Břidličná (formerly Czech Frýdlant nad Moravicí German Friedland at Mohra ) is a town of around 3,600 inhabitants in the Moravian Moravian-Silesian Region (Czech Republic).

Geography

Geographical Location

Břidličná than twelve kilometers southeast of Bruntál at the boundary between high and low dies, at the confluence of Mohra ( Czech Moravice ) with the Bach Polička.

Districts

The municipality consists of the villages Břidličná nad Moravicí Albrechtice u Rýmařova ( Olbersdorf ) and Vajglov ( Weigelsdorf ).

History

The town was first mentioned in the year 1317.

On October 15, 1878 Friedland received at the Mohra rail connection through the state railway Kriegsdorf - Roman city.

On 1 December 1930, the market town of Friedland had at Mohra 1,654 inhabitants, on 17 May 1939 were 1,751 and 1,466 residents on May 22, 1947. The Germans were expropriated in 1945 and sold.
