British Independent Film Awards 2010

The 13th ceremony of the British Independent Film Awards ( BIFA ) held on 5 December 2010 at The Brewery in London. It was moderated as in the previous years by the British actor James Nesbitt.

Winner of the evening was the British biopic The King's Speech director Tom Hooper from. Nominated in seven categories, winning "The King 's Speech" the awards for best film, best screenplay (David Seidler ), Best Supporting Actress ( Helena Bonham Carter ), Best Actor ( Colin Firth ) and Best Supporting Actor ( Geoffrey Rush ).

Helena Bonham Carter also received the Richard Harris Award for outstanding achievements as an actress.
